Nasa Contractors
I`m aware that many, if not the majority, of NASA facility employees are contractors, and I`ve done my research and sent tons of cold emails – so far, it`s been promising. With this article, I try to: some questions that can be answered: $2,814 $1,485 $1,398 $1,360 $1,038 $848 $529 $528 $436 $359 $345 $278 $276 $273 $257 $230 $212 $207 $203 $198 $197 $151 $142 $136 $128 128106 $105 $102 $94 $86 $82 $80 $77 $76 $71 $70 $67 $66 $65 $62 $61 $57 $57 $56 $55 $52 $51 $50 $47 $46 $45 $43 $43 $42 $39 $39 $39 $39 $37 $37 $36 $35 $34 $34 $34 $34 $34 $34 $34 $33 $32 $32 $32 $31 $30 $29 $29 $29 $29 $28 $28 $27 $25 $24 $23 $23 $21 $21 $21 $21 $20 $20 $20 $19 $19 $19 $19 $18 $17 $17 $17 $17 $17 $17 $17 $15 $15 I`ve always imagined working on the “glamorous” side of the space industry, i.e. supervising and designing the actual design of the satellite, system or vehicle according to the requirements, for example, of a scientific mission. I realize it`s a bit ambitious and maybe naïve, but why not aim big? That said, right now I`m focusing my research on working at NASA (my dream job would be at JPL) and not on a prime contractor like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, etc., because I don`t have any direct ties there (in my experience, that`s by far the most important factor), and even though I managed to get a job with one of these guys, it probably wouldn`t be as directly relevant to the space industry as my current offering. I also haven`t completely ruled out SpaceX, and my senior design project feeds two or three engineers there every year, but I don`t want to work on it particularly, mainly because of the “thrown into the fire” culture and the complete lack of work-life balance. I am a senior mechanical engineering student who wants to look for a full-time job after graduation. I`ve always been interested in the space industry, and I have an offer from the company I did an internship for last summer to work on satellite subsystems for a major Fortune 100 aerospace supplier. They are pushing for my decision by September 30, 2016, so I try to look around and get more deals by then. Below is a list of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration`s (NASA) Top 100 Prime Contractors in fiscal 2020, ranked by total contract funds awarded. The data was provided by the U.S. government. In fiscal 2020, NASA awarded contracts totaling $18.90 billion, up 4.1 percent from fiscal 2019 from $18.16 billion.
NASA`s share of total government contracts was 2.8% in FY20, up from 3.1% in FY19). In fiscal 2020, the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) received $2.81 billion in master contracts, or 14.9 percent of the total contract funds awarded by NASA. Boeing came in second with $1.49 billion (7.9%), followed by Lockheed Martin in third place with $1.40 billion (7.4%). Northrop Grumman belegt put 1.36 Billionen US-Dollar (7.2%) den vierten Platz, gefolgt von der Jacobs Engineering Group put 1.04 Billionen US-Dollar (5.5%), Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX), KBR, Science Applications International (SAIC), Gencorp und Arctic Slope.
